I got scammed on ebay by "mrsellallcom"
I'm a dumba$$, but I should have known.
I bought this exhaust system http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8025269711 It shipped directly from Summitracing, PN SUM-680122 with their box, invoice and everything. This guy "MrSellAllCom" never touched the item, he simply ordered it from Summit, had them ship it to me, and then jacked me for $40 extra on shipping/handling and didn't tell me the brand. I found out too late when the package arrived that I got scammed. Live and learn... Everybody else, don't be an idiot like me... and Avoid any ebay auctions from mrsellallcom.

I don't agree with what/how he did, but he did cover himself.
"This exhasut will ship directly from a well known manufacturer and vendor and your shipping fee represents a small finders fee so that you may develop a future relationship with this vendor." |

friend of mine just bid on an item on ebay. his first time on ebay.
i told him to be careful. that a lot of times you can buy the same item, sometimes from the same seller, for less thru their ebay store, if the seller has one. people get caught up in the bidding frenzy and the bids go nuts. well, he lost the bid. he found out later he could buy the same item from another internet source for less. david |

I wouldn't really call it a 'scam'. You did get the product didn't you? Was it what you ordered? If so, you didn't get scammed. You may have paid a little more than you wanted, but that happens millions of times every day in this country. You chose to shop Ebay for you exhaust system and this is what you found. This seller is just providing a service for all those who chose to use Ebay and bypass digging through all the indivdual companies to find their products.

When I'm buying something new, I always check out other resources before I look for that "deal" on Ebay. The deals are out there and yes, even on Ebay but you need to be informed before you commit with a bid on the prices available elsewhere.
A good example is when I was looking for bucket seats for my pickup, I decided on APC racing style seats. They were available locally (Ramchargers, Pep boys) for $149.00. On Ebay I found them for $69.00! I thought cool...until I read the "shipping and handling" charges of a flat $100.00 rate and to top it off they were about 30 miles from my house...and no pick up allowed, must be shipped!

I see people buy stuff all the time on Ebay for way more then you'd pay from Summit or a similer company. I never have been able to understand it.

i dont think this was really a scam either...the guy put everything in black and white...just need to take the time to read everything prior to bidding...i would also bet that he is not the only person to do this...and really...is it a bad idea? he has no inventory and never even has to touch the part...drop shipping!!! he is only the middleman marking up an item to make a lil profit and ordering it from somewhere else in the buyers name...

I don't see the scam. You received the item you bought through EBay. Isn't this the basic concept of a business? Heck, I just ordered a set of brake lines from our host here PY, and guess what, it was dropped shipped direct from In Line Tube. I didn't think twice about it.

Most of the NOS stuff can be bought as GM NEW through TRIM PARTS or other GM licensed dealers/maybe even PERFORMANCE YEARS PONTIAC.
One guy sells stuff all the time as NOS and its new GM parts anyone can buy. |

Ordered my SS brake lines directly from Inline Tube. Saved a few bucks.
They fit perfect.

Isn't it called "Drop Shipping" what that seller is doing?
I got this art print off Ebay. If I would have done a little homework and gone to the seller's website I would've saved a few bucks. I'm still learning. Seems to be more scams everyday. I wonder if Summit knows he's using their photos for his auctions. I think that might be a violation of Ebay rules. You can't borrow another sellers pics.

Ebay sure isn't what it was 6 - 7 years ago, when nearly every item was a true auction. Now days, the buy it now price is super high, the reserve is high, or if it is an actual auction, the shipping fees are outrageous. Anyway you slice it, everybody is working the system. I prefer to buy directly from PY or other companies, than to worry about an auction, feedback, ripoff shipping etc.

Dude, you did not even come close to getting scammed. Try spending $ 1000 on some parts that never showed up. I even talked with this guy too. Now that is something called scammed. Everyone just needs to double, tripple check before hitting that bid button. This guy just had some fancy wording hoping you would not catch it.
