Default Looking for a good trans guy, central TX

I'm looking for a trustworthy transmisson guy to rebuild my TH400 out of my 74 T/A. Not a race trans, just a good strong street trans capable of dealing with 450 to 500 hp. I would like shift kit and maybe a slightly looser convertor. I'm in San Marcos TX so Austin or San Antonio would be good.

Thanks, MP

Try a guy in Ft. Worth...Called Hardy's Hydromatics. This oldtimer has been building them since they were new. He built one for my 67 and I'm still trying to tear it up after 6 years. He's very..very reasonable, and not some fast talk'n Rick at a chain store. If you don't get it up here before the summer, I'll meet you at Gruene Hall and have a beer...or two.

Thanks for the input, I found a local guy that I had lost touch with. Turns out he's been doing transmissions for the last twenty years or so!

Thanks again, MP
