Default Iris Mist paint code (BC/CC)?

Does anyone out there have a BC/CC paint code for Iris Mist? I'm still a ways from final paint on my '65, but am trying to plan ahead.

I know the original lacquer codes as they are well documented. I was hoping someone on here who has actually painted their car this color might have the formula recorded.

I know you can have paint chips or hidden areas scanned, but going through old posts in both this forum and on chevelles.com that seems to be hit and miss at times.

Thanks,
Brett

Don't laugh at this but I have seen a '65 GTO over here in Iris Mist and the colour came from Hyundai.

The under trunk paint on the GTO was original as was the door jambs and I think the colour was so close a blind man would have been pleased to see the difference. There really was no difference.

I don't know if the Hyundai Excel of about 1999 was exported to the USA and whether you got the same paint colours as we got but maybe its worth checking out. EASY getting the Hyundai colour codes.

Good Luck

That's interesting - I may have to check that out if nothing else pans out.

The guy I bought my car from told me that it was painted with a Saturn color that turns out to be a close match (my door jambs still look to be original paint), but is slightly off (a little too purple?). Unfortunately I had to strip much of this paint off since it was a *really* poor job.
