68 Bird with a 69 Gas Tank, any Problems?
Hello, I am modifying a 68 Firebird Convertible. I would like to use a 69 Gas Tank, and add a trunk popper. Any problems with adding the tank and how would I install a trunk popper? Thanks

Dave,
As I am sure you know, the '69 has the filler neck on the tank and the '67-'68's have a separate filler neck w/rubber hose. I have not seen anyone try to make this type of modification. The '69 tank filler comes through the rear lower body panel, not the trunk. You would have to extensively modify your lower body panel and add a license plate gas door. As far as the "trunk popper", remote trunk releases are available from time to time on eBay. There are also aftermarket keyless remotes that can be installed to release the trunk. Tom
