Are the seat covers from PY decent quality? Do they install pretty easily? I ordered the color sample today. What kind of time frame can I expect for the covers once I order?
Thanks! Aaron |

PY carries seat covers from PUI. You might want to do a search for threads about PUI to get a better sampling of opinions.

Before you order anything from Legendary, better read my postings in this section. Product is real nice, but people are jerks and after almost six months, I still don't have my 67 GTO kit complete. Read what I have posted here. Good luck.

i've got got PY interior in my wife's '67 Bird for the last 8 years. i was very pleased.
also had legendary in a Mopar i had, and it was very good. PY says they carry both. i recently checked with PY, and they said interior stuff takes 3 -4 weeks to get. they don't stock it, they order as needed. |

Well, if anyone decides to use the Legendary interior, it's really great stuff. BUT, order it through our host and save yourself months of waiting, bad service, and rude people. The people I've delt with there were many. Only the guy writing up my order seemd to have any brains. WHen problems started to happen, he was on the road and I had to deal with their customer service people. Every last one of them is a janitor that thinks they own the company. Deal with our host and make it nothing more than an expensive undertaking. Rather than expensive and {{{stressfullllll }}} :whoo:

I had lots of problems with my PUI 67 gto seat covers and got zero help from pui. the upholster had to add material to the bottoms of both seat covers as the material was too short.this seems to be a problem with the 67 seat covers especially, the same guy that did my seats did another 67 a few months ago and the front and back upholstry did not match color wise , when he called PUI they said that you can"t look at the front and the back seats at the same time so live with it. I WILL NEVER BUY OR USE ANY PUI PRODUCT AGAIN EVER !!!!!!!!!! PUI MORE LIKE POS

I used PUI on a 69 GTO I had several years ago. After 2 years the heat pressed pleated areas came loose giving the seat a smooth look.I see this often on the 70 comfortweave seats also. I would defitely try the legendary seats or repair the original covers.

The pleats in a 67 from PUI are not as defined as the originals, not even close but the product from my experience was well made and fit nice with no other issues other than incorrect plete depth and these were installed in a 67 GTO, color was black. I will go Legendary next time around for accuracy.

Hi I don't know what to tell you, I have done so many interiors with their covers and never had a problem, is that possible that your upholstery guy is not adding enough foam to make them fit right, sometimes you get waves on them due to the fact old seat buns are out of shape so you need to add foam or , just buy new seat foams.
why don't you just send the seats back and request a refund? |

I prefer Pui. I have had trouble with legendary. Maybe you just talked to the wrong person at pui. Cliff Carr ext 139 at pui can help you if you have any issues. Past or present.

I'm glad I found this thread, as I'm getting ready to do the interior on my car.
There don't appear to be many manufactureres out there....I know PY and Ames carry PUI, and I called OPGI who said they get their stuff made offshore somewhere, and then Legendary. EDIT.....Just called Year One, and at least for the 66 GTO, they also stock PUI. I hear more positive things about PUI than negative, but it sounds like Legendary is a crap shoot, not to mention the increase in price. Personally, I really, really can't stand bad customer service (meaning from the manufacturer in this case), so I'll keep my eye on this thread to see what the consensus seems to be. Used PUI on '75 T/A w/deluxe seats, fit and finish was close enough to original that only did the drivers seat.
Will be doing the '67 GTO soon, so curious to anyones experience with those.

I installed a complete PUI set (seats and door panels) purchased locally since they are based in Louisville, KY for my '69 Firebird. They are very nice and I recommend them. Can't comment on how they do for the GTO's.

I used PUI and two of my white covers had blue ink writing on the back and it showed through in daylight. Spoke and emailed a CSR at PUI, bypassing the vendor, sent them back, took a while, but was still pleased with their customer service.
