According to specs I've seen they coil bind at .980",so if they are installed at 1.7" figure they should be OK to .650" with more than a safe amount of clearance.
(usually .050"-.060" clearance min. recommended)

If they are at a different installed height that would affect the final clearance too.

Does'nt hurt to check them on a spring tester to see where exactly they are before installing them too, just to be safe.

This all assumes no other clearance issues too.

Always check springs with the retainers you will actually be using installed. Different retainers can have different step thicknesses on the inner spring step which can cause variances in both seat and open pressures and in the stack height of the spring. It's possible the inner spring will stack before the outer does.

Currently we are running just a tad over .600" lift on them, no issues. I had planned on replacing them this winter when we did the cam change, but checked them on KRE's spring tester, and the measured exactly the same pressure(s) as a new set, and we had a LOT of time on them. I shimmed them .030" for the new hydraulic roller cam, still plenty of room and open pressures are fine.....Cliff
