After searching for many years, everything finally fell into place and my search for a 65 2+2 is over. I also got to meet Bob & Scott, a couple of real nice guys that help to keep this hobby going. I just want to thank everyone for helping out.
Don't worry Bob, It made it home safely and I am going to take good care of it.

It was a moped budget, Mopars are way too overpriced .

No motor or trans. I will probably use a 400 in it for now and start stashing away a little cash for an "in case I come across a 421 fund". I also need to find a four speed.
I could use the 389 out of my 65 4-door but it is the original engine and I hate to seperate it from a good driving car.

Hey Jim,
It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Hopefully it won't take too long to get this thing going so that I can bring it to Old-Town too. I need to shuffle a few of my other projects and make this one the priority. If I can get it looking half as good as the 2 Bad Cat I will be one happy camper.

Are you sure you weren't dreaming of owning a 1966 2+2? Ha,ha! I bought mine with an Olds 403 motor in it, then bought a second donor car from Stevep, a '66 2+2 with a running 421. I've got the heads in to my machinist now. I think if I didn't have the 421, I would be looking around for a 455 instead of a 400. These cars are BIG and need BIG POWER. Just my take on it. Anyway, best of luck with the '65!

I'm sure it has always been a '65. My first car was a 65 Cat that my grandfather bought new. I remember riding in the back seat looking over his shoulder at those cool round gauges on the dash and him showing me how I could not stand up when he got on it. I was probably five or six at the time. Plus I think the '65 nose is the most beautiful front end that Pontiac ever produced. I think that all of the Pontiacs of that era were works of art but the '65's hold a special place in my heart.
I am planning on getting a 421 as well but I can land a 400 pretty cheap just to get it mobile for now. Good luck with your '66.

born11bravo is right when he says these cars are big and need big power but believe me the 389s that came stock on these big cars were no slouchers themselves. Yes the more power the merrier but a 400 should be more than 'just enough to get 'er mobile'
A 421 would tear new ones into every car it passed!

of course if anyone found a 65 421 for sale please feel free to send me the info

nice find, the 2+2's have always turned my head. i've been casuallly looking for one for years, there's not many left up here tho.

that looks likea solid start and a good color too.
