I sold a 68 Firebird convertable to an Eric Budre several years ago. I let his family member pick it up on good faith even though he owed me partial payment.
The interest is getting up there. If anyone knows him, ask him to contact me before I start the collection process, which I am very good at. |

There is a big difference between several days, several weeks, several months, and several years

Statue of limitation in California is four years....if it has been over that time since he gave you any money then it's his car free and clear according to Califonia State law. Who has the pick slip?

Sounds like you are good at getting payment so I hope you get paid.
I am not a fan of anybody not getting what they are owed or agreed on so I hope he comes through or someone can help you get ahold of him. It does seem a little odd not to have talked to him for a while then come a calling for what is due and interest, etc, hopefully he is not dead or skipped the country. Last edited by Goatster69; 06-12-2006 at 08:25 PM. |

Statute of limitations? Are you joking? Who said I'm calling a lawyer? I'm wondering if he's still a Pontiac guy, and maybe has an explanation, and will make it right. If not I'll track him down and collect in person. It's what I do. Around the time this happened I was in the hospital getting my right hand re-attached in a series of surgeries. That is part of the reason I sold the car. Also part of the reason I didn't go after him harder. Because he made it this far without making amends he should be forgiven? My name isn't Jesus, it's Repoman. Does anyone know him or not? |

Sorry to hear about your situation RepoMan, not getting paid, having to have your hand re-attached, that's awful man. I didn't mean anything other than it seemed strange to wait until now to seek what you are owed. Good luck !

I'm sure you already looked, but Google didn't have anything on the name Eric Burde, but they did have something on a Eric Burke from MontainView. Sorry not much help.

I'm not trying to come off as a crazy hard-ass who won't forget an ancient debt, although I guess I am.
Honestly, something else reminded me of this old deal, and I said to myself; "Self, you did a cool thing trusting that young guy who really wanted a Pontiac. I wonder if these many years later he is proudly driving it around. Driving around with a hot stripper by his side, and a fat wallet between him and the new naugahydes. And this guy is thinking to himself: "Self, that guy from NJ was cool to trust me, and I never even paid him off, because I was really broke back then, because I spent my money on Microsoft stock. Boy, would I like to find that cool old timer and let him take my car and girlfriend around the block a few times." So I was just hoping my good nature back then started young Eric on a path to Pontiac righteousness. And maybe he's right here on the board, or someone knows him. If I don't hear anything for a week, I'll tack his name and address to the fridge to remind me to give him a call. |

Let me know if you need a set of eyeballs to confirm whatever intel you dredge up. I'm fairly close. Sorry can't help with any face to face stuff with Mr. Burde or whatever his name is- I'm, uhhhhhhh, on my "best behavior" until this job thing gets sorted out.

I ran across this cached snapshot of an auction a Eric Budre had up on eBay this past February. Here's an excerpt:
"PLEASE MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO ERIC BUDRE AT 49794 HOUSE RANCH ROAD O ' NEALS , CA , 93645". The auction number is 4608328086, but I have no idea how old that is. Mr. Budre was apparently selling a in-dash clock from a '69 Firebird. Here's the full link to the cached page: http://72.14.207.104/search?sourceid...m%3D4608328086 Jerry |

Or, maybe he's just selling that Firebird that you sold to him, one piece at a time, on ebay... |
