I'm going. I plan on being there all weekend. Just for your info, Sikeston is an 1/8 mile track.

Also, for those who don't know the area it's in extreme southeast Missouri, in the area they refer to as the "boot heal" of Missouri. Nice to see another Pontiac race in the mid-south.

SOMEHOW, I think the I-55 appox. 40-45 miles from Ark. State line is close enough for directions to somebody who knows where it's at. The dragstrip is within sight of I-55 on the west side.

sikeston is on hwy 60, west of the I-55 jct. been through more than once, cant imagine why the track is only 1/8th. the land over there is flat as a pancake for miles, only corn rows and cotton fields. it should be an extra fat qtr with a 10 mile shut down and an ice cream hut on the roundy.

I go past Sikeston,MO. all the time when I go that route up to Wisconsin where the rest of the family lives,yeah not too far from the border with Ill-o-noise...

Been past there dozens of times.

Thats where Lamberts cafe is,signs all over the highway,and up the road a bit is Reeves boomland,last cheap gas before the border,and a juvenile delinquents dreamland!!!

Fireworks by the ton...Gotta love that!

Had no idea there was a track 'round there though...

Here's a hotlink:click below;

Sounds like a cool deal too!

I have been to Larry's many times. If you need it for your Firebird/Trans Am, he has it. And reasonible on price too.

The flyer doesn't mention anything about payout. Is it only the gift certificates or is there some kind of payout also? If it's worth making the trip I may be able to get a few to show up.

I would love to see that 'Bird flying at Sikeston ! I see that Larry's number is on the flyer. I'd suggest calling him to see if or money payout there might be.

Probird, there might fewer cars to beat than at a regular race? Yeah, I know, I'm just trying to give you another reason to make the trip.
