Posted this awhile back but thought I would bring it up to date.
I have a ST-10 that would leak out the bearing retainer. I have pulled the trans and replaced the seal in the retainer and a new gasket. I have not put the trans back in the car yet. I was told that the factors that cause leakes in these were: Bad seal Bad gasket Vent stopped up Synthetic lube Over filled Now on the over full issue. This trans is from a 75 Corvette. I have noticed in the T/A that it mounts canted towards the driver which places the filler plug higher on the passenger side. I don't know if this trans mounts straight up in the Corvette but if so that would explain how it could be easily over filled. Any one else with a thought or experience with this? Also anybody know the correct fluid capacity for this trans without filling until it runs out the filler plug hole? Phil

Found a spec sheet. Says fill with 2.44 pints. This thing had almost 2 qts. in it. Got it back in and will test tonight.
