I picked up some aluminum honeycomb pattern screen for my shaker. I thought it would look good being that Pontiac likes the honeycomb pattern so much. It turned out pretty good. Nice and tight and I can pop it out at any time.

Looks good. I'd love to have the door open on my shaker, but it still has the rivets and block-off plate and I don't want to alter it.

The sound coming back at you from the four barrels opening up through the opening is worth it! It also sounds like a hoover sucking air when the car is idling. People get the biggest kick out of that when they walk up to the car. Going through the gears down the highway is an unmistakable sound just watch Smokey and the Bandit and listen to the four barrels.

Nice touch.
It looks much better than a plain opening, if one just removed the blocking plate. I have seen the small square type wire screens that some people have added and to me they just look cheep. Your idea adds some classy look to it. The black trim helps to cover the install. I do not see any seam on the trim, how did you do that? I bet this would look good with the honeycomb wheel combination. Why would you want to be able to remove it? Once installed, why remove it? You have the benefit of shaker air draw already there? Tonyqt,
Can you clarify? Ok, it is a U shaped trim piece that slips over the "cut edge" of the new block off plate. My question is; how did you get the ends to meet up so nicely? Or am I missing something. I assume this is a strip of U shaped channel that you have wrapped around the edges of you new insert. Therefore, there must be a meeting joint where the two reconnect, but I can not see the joint, so you must have a fine trick for doing so. Nice work. Please advise. SSD |

Tony, Been looking for a piece of honey comb to do the same on my scoop. I figure it'll match the grilles on my car. All I can find is a 2' x 4' piece from MSC @ over $40. Where did you find yours?
