Going to look at "an all original, one owner" 69 firebird 400. ANy suggestion as to what are the weak areas on these things? I imagine rear shock mounts? How do I check them? Will I easily see th erust from the trunk or underneath it. All your help is always appreciated! I just hope this one is a real 400 car! I will let you know and hopefully post some pics soon!!

Id say the most rust-prone areas are behind wheels, lower cowl area, and the front floors. They usually rust from the inside out, as they have dead spots for retaining moisture. Cowls would be hard to check with the fenders on but theyre notorious for collecting leaves, etc. Ive pulled out enough leaves to almost fill a 5-gal bucket before lol. Im sure others will chime in to add.....
