Brandi, since Pdude built your engine, he would know best. But for right now, just set the timing at 10 degrees BTDC. That will get you in the ball park. Hopefully your initial problem with carb backfires will be gone.

I got it at 12 now, im gona PM P dude in a bit, i'm awiting the engine to cool a little so i don't burn my hand tightening the bolt. I appreciate your responce. thanks Brandi

After tightening the bolt recheck the setting you have. It's pretty easy to move the timing a little when tightening the bolt.
