has anyone here ever used an escrow service for either buying or selling a car long distance? i have a tentative deal to sell a car cross country and this type of service was proposed for payment. i looked online and it seems legitamite. i would like to hear from people who have used it

I have used a escrow service before.Small money stuff,but thats what the guy wanted.They put the money into the account,you ship,the person checks out the product,if he's ok with it he tells the service to release the money.If he's not happy,he has the car and you pay to ship it back.Just some thing to think about.

i thought the way i read it he has to accept it from the escrow company or they ship it back and refund his money minus any fee and shipping.

He has to accept it and tell the escrow comp to release the money.I don't remember too well it was a couple years ago.

Make SURE it's a reputable, established company. Scammers sometimes use a "fake" escrow company website.
