Dad's new motor is finally finished. Big thanks to WAYNE SCHICANTEK for taking over on someone elses build(who had left us high and dry for 3 years.) It's a 455block/428crank 445cid. Kauffman heads, mostly Crower internals,MSD dist. Also installing the Tremec 5-speed kit,(Thanks to you guys for the tip on going with Classic Chevy 5-speed.) And a front disc brake kit from Inline Tube while we got it apart. Made 430hp/485tq on the dyno today. Could get some more power with a little tweaking they said, but should be a handfull regardless compared to the old 4bbl 389 and Muncie we are replacing. Now we just need to get this

My Dad has a question for you guys. The carpeting he had originally bought when we restored the car 15 years ago was too short on the sides and we had to be piece some together to make it work. You guys that raised the floor for the tremec said that you needed to buy new carpet cause yours was now too short. Which vendor did you use for the new carpet and was it plenty long enough to cover the raised tunnel and still touch the sills?????? He wants to make sure he doesn't get short carpet when he buys new again. Thanks alot guys.
