Default Praises go to PayPal

I just got a full refund from PayPal of $913.22 because of a botched Ebay buy (see http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=521647 ). I can tell you once the disputed was escalated to Paypal, the communication from the seller (I-Sold It) finally was where it should have been. Thanks must also go to I-Sold It. They forgot to reply to the dispute and I was awarded my claim. I'm truly glad they dropped the ball in replying to PayPal, otherwise it could have dragged out for another 10-15 days before I got my refund. I'm glad PayPal was there for me. Now I'm off to give I-Sold It a negative feedback on Ebay...

Neither have I. Probably close to 100 transactions without a hitch.

I've had over 1000 transactions on Paypal in the last 6-1/2 years. Never had a problem yet. Paypal is great!

I don't think anyone intends to damage a shipped item, but the responcable thing to do with something so fragile is to use suffienient padding and care.

On the other hand, good insurance is warrented for such items and most buyers decline it. Even the best packaged shipments can get damaged.

Case it point.. I sold a pristine set of 65 GTO grilles on ebay for $750.00. Alot of bubble wrap and thick cardboard were used that added 10 lbs to the shipping weight. As in all of my auctions, I strongly recomend the buyer buy insurance..He did not. UPS damaged the shipment so bad that the grilles were unusable. The buyer writes me to complain and accuses me of not sending the items in the auction. After he sent me pictures of what he got, it was clear that the shipment was damaged. Rather than call UPS to file a claim, he ships them back for a refund. Now he can no long file a claim nor can I.

He did file claim with PayPal, locked my account for the $750 and after 2 months, the decision was the fault of the buyer for not buying insurance and not filing a claim with UPS when he should have. Since then, I no longer keep a balance in my PayPal account.

The seller did take out insurance on the item, and charged me for the insurance. Fed Ex denied their claim due to insufficient packaging. Since the Insurance was "paid for" by the sellers, They were the ones responsible for the claim. They (the sellers) did not want to refund me the money because Fed Ex didn't pay out. Whatever happened, I did not receive my goods as purchased.

So what happened to the damaged items? Did you send them back? If so, did you get stuck with the return charges?

Because they were damaged upon receipt, I immediately called the seller and Fed Ex. Fed Ex then came and picked them up the next day with no return charges applied (see thread for more information http://forums.performanceyears.com/f...d.php?t=521647 ). The item was returned to the seller, and nothing happened for four weeks. The seller kept telling me they were going to re-submit the claim. Every time I contacted them, they were no further along than the last time I contacted them. They basically didn't care, they had their money. Once I escalated the problem with Paypal, it then became a priority to them. The money funds in question was then locked in their account until the matter was settled. The funny thing is was, it was the sellers continued delinquency that got me my refund. They had 10 days to respond to my escalation report to Paypal, and didn't. The claim was then defaulted in my favor. The person I spoke to at Paypal said I did everything necessary to receive my refund, it would have just taken longer if the sellers would have responded properly.
