Default Performance Crankshaft Austin Texas - SCARY!!!

Last week I went to go look at a project car and some of the engine components were at a shop called Performance Cranksahft here in Austin, Texas. The person in the shop who I was told was the owners son completely went off on the gentleman I was there with in a verbal assault. This was a clearly unprovoked attack ( This was like physco scary stuff ). It was extremely evident that the owners son was trying to pick a fight. I would have to guess this is an individual with some unstable mental issues judging by the display I witnessed. I have no clue of the quality level of the work that comes out of this shop but based on what I witnessed first hand I can assure I will NEVER set foot in that shop and would recommend the same for anyone else.

Interesting,,,I'll have to ask around and see if I can find out any background info on this subject...

I've never dealt with them, but I will need a couple of cranks machined in the not too distant future, but did'nt really have plans on dealing with them, they're way on the south side of town,so they would have likely been the last folks I contacted.

What sorta engine parts were at that shop?

Maybe that psycho fella had a run in with the guy who had the project car ya'll were checking out and thought you guys were there on his behalf?

Either way sounds real unproffesional of him to act like that...

But in Texas, there's just too many Bubba's that act the fool like you describe, usually it's their brains have been rotted by too much meth and/or alcohol, with a big chaser of chewin toh-backy. :gag: :censored: :boxing:

My engine builder here in Austin has used Performnce Crankshaft before. On my old 462 I personally took the block to them with the aftermarket main caps installed and they measured and the fit the crank to the assembly. I delt with an older gentleman that I assumed was the owner, attitude and service was fine.

Mic. bearings and size crankshaft. Check index and stroke. Cost was $150 in 2003.

Don't know if there was an issue but I believe my engine builder hasn't used them in a while. I know he has used Texas Engine Machine in Liano Texas on occasions.

And if you go to Liano and it's lunch time be sure to stop by Coopers BBQ, it's one of the last old time pit barbecues left in the state. A Texas legend.

Default Nut's in TX

Heck guys maybe the owner is simply trying to give his son some gainful employment. It could be the young man may be dealing with visual creatures that really are not there. I would not be to fast to judge this poor suffering man. He may be dating your own daughter some day, and start calling you mom or dad. Did I hear someone mention in a post he has a sign posted he also willing to babysit for real cheap??

Good day friends.
