Hi all. I'm a new member here and wanted to share some pics of the '64 sedan I just bought. It's got 50k miles and as far as I can tell it is pretty original except for some exterior repainting here and there. The body is fairy straight and solid except for a small rust through on the drivers side front fender. All trim is in excellent condition, the bumpers have been rechromed at some point and are straight. Floors and trunk are near perfect as is the interior. It is a basic Tempest with 215 six, ST 300 trans, manual steering and brakes. The only options as far as I can tell are front seat belts, radio and 2-speed wipers with washer. It runs very well and the trans shifts very smooth and no smoke. The suspension seems good and brakes work very well with no pulling. About the only things that don't work are the high speed for wipers and washer and also the rear license light. I had to fix the trans kick-down switch as it was frozen and also the horn which turned out to be just a poor connection/ground. It's got 4 new Goodyear radial tires. Miraculously, it does not leak any fluids. I saw it in a row of low- priced cars for sale at the Englishtown Swap Meet in NJ. I wasn't really seriously looking for a car but for $2000 I couldn't pass it up. It needs some attention to surface rust forming around the front windshield and rear along the lower edge. I know it's not a desireable model being 4 doors with six but it is a cool cruiser and a time capsule!

Any 44 year old 4-door car that's still in good condition is definitely worth buying for a good price. These cars just aren't popping out of the woodwork anymore, nowadays the 4-door cars that we used to pass up for a 2-door are finally getting some attention.

The 215-6 will get you an easy 20 MPG, perfect for getting your money's worth out of a Sunday afternoon tankful.

Face it, these Pontiacs of the '60s are all good-looking cars, even the lowly 4-door body styles.

I have a soft spot for the '64 A-body cars, to the PY forums!

For $2K, I would have bought 5 of those cars if they were available. The interior in that car is incredible!!

You need to get the car registered with a movie/add agent. They are always looking for stock 4 door sedans to fill out street scenes when they shoot movies. The rates are fairly decent if you don't have to stay with the car all day.

Wow great looking car, does this person have anymore for $2000. The interior looks new. I know people who would crawl, through a mine field, to have that car .

I agree that any 44 year old car that still in good running condition is a desireable car and although not a popular body style it still get lots of looks............I had it parked in front of my g'friends garage sale (the 3rd pic in my original post) and within 10 minutes I saw two different guys pull a u-turn, park and walk into the yard sale prentending to look at stuff only to start looking at my car.........lol.............one guy lived around the corner and has a shoebox Nova and the other a '52 Chevy.............

here's what it looked like at Englishtown...........the rear tires were almost flat, the interior floor was filthy and had a bad musty odor (which went away when I scrubbed the rubber carpet and took the mats out), the black stain on the bumper was just grease but, it iwas very complete and straight.......it didn't look like it was running but the guy drove it about 60 miles to the meet.................the guy I bought it from only had it for about 6 mos and didn't do anything with it...........he is into Hodaka motorcycles............

i only payed $1200 for my catalina and it runs great . it just does not look as good as your car. 40 years of sun have not been good the the paint

I saw your Catalina in another post and I like it.............4-dr hardtop.........great cruiser........
