Can anyone somehow show me what the brackets that hold these cocktail shakers on to the radiator support look like ? I have the shakers but the brackets that holds them to the radiator support are missing and according to the parts guy at the pontiac dealer it is listed as a kit or assembly and the pictue shows the location of the shaker but you can not tell the actual shape of the bracket and it is not permanently mounted to the shaker as I believe was the case for the 69 shakers.Also does any one have apair they would like to sell?

I thought that the brackets were "permanently" attached to the dampner. I have a full set currently out of a '69 Camaro so I can check those and see...I son't have any in my '67 bird but do in my '67 Camaro..they are installed so I will do my best to check it out.

I suspect the '67 vibration damper mounts similar to the '68 and '68. The damper has a bracket welded perpendicular to the damper. This bracket has two weld nuts on it and mounts to the radiator support. The brackets you are refering to bolt to the inner fender liner, not the radiator support. The bracket has two bends in it and attaches to the bottom of the damper and then to the front of the fender liner. The bracket sits on the flat surface of the fender liner and is bent in such a way as to wrap around the liner away from the engine compartment.

If you have your original fender liners, you should be able to see the holes in the liner where the bolts go through to attach the lower bracket.

That is correct - the front dampers are different for all three years but mount pretty much the same. The '69 is different due to fender and liner changes. The radiator supports are the same for all three years.

Yes, the canisters all look pretty much the same...it is just the bracket change that differentiates them. What's alwasys puzzled me is why '68 are different...as the cahnges between '67 aqnd '68 are very very minimal.

Here is an illustration I made for my '68 Front Dampener a few years ago.
Had a few brackets made at a shop for myself and friends cars.
Not sure if I have any left (still sorting through years of stuff in the barn after a move)

what I`ve seen , it seems like the trunk shakers get more "tucked"
in on 68`s than 67`s, so brackets may be differently bent..or am I mistaken (again?lol)
looks like on my buddys 67 they stick out into the trunk lots more than on my 69 anyway..

My '67 'vert was fortunately unmolested prior to my taking posession of it, so it still had all its parts in their proper locations. Here is a photo of the driver side vibration damper taken during the front end disassembly. Only the bolts attaching the damper to the radiator support have been removed. If I find a photo of the rears, I'll send them along also. Hope this helps.

I removed the dampners on all four corners of my '67 convertible in '96 and I seem to recall that all brackets were welded to the dampners themselves. Since my bird only had 27k miles on it in '96 I doubt anyone had modded them.

Thanks for the diagram it was helpfull because the dampeners I have for the fron do not look like this at all the only thing the same is the lower feet..It has no top brackets welded to it that would bolt to the radiator support..Thanks again!

I have one shaker left with the bracket
It was in of all things a 68 Sprint 4 speed hardtop I parted out.
