Radio date ID
Anybody know how to determine the manufacture date of a radio? I've been told that it is on the cooling fins, but I cannot see it on a radio I pulled from my 71 Lemans Sport. Thanks.

The only date on a radio i have found is on the label.
It is the service model number like the ones in the pics . for radio on this on it is 91BFM2 for stereo unit it is 91BMP11 Now to read the service model for year of manufacture it is: 9 = 1969 1 = Chevrolet B = Caprice or Impala etc. FM = self explanatory 2 = second series Same thing for multiplex unit. BTW this radio is for sale . Scott
