This post is long over due. If anyone is thinking of having a trans built wether it will be for a stock rebuild or a race set-up you need to call Paul. A few years ago at a NSCA race in Louisiana during first round of qualifying I grenaded a TH400. Grenaded is definately a generous term. Paul Starnes (TTS here on the board) had come out to watch the racing and when he found out I was done he offered to take a look at the trans. I pulled it out, we then disassembled it in my car trailer and found ALL the internals were shot. We found a vendor there that had a few parts. Paul left the track about 8pm and took the trans and parts back to his shop 2 hrs away and stayed up all night building it. He returned back at the track about 8:20 AM with the rebuilt trans. Got the trans in the car and made it to the staging lanes for first round at 9 am. Ended up going 3 rounds that day after a all night thrash. Being 650 miles from home and running for points this really helped me out. The car ran the exact same numbers it did in qualifying with the old trans and the new trans is still going strong. He frequents the board often and hopefully he will post his contact info. We are getting him to build 2 more for the upcoming season and will be running for the Championship again. Thanks Paul!

You know he's a stand up dude when he fixes one tranny & builds a $4,000 best of everything out of his pocket T-400 for a certain racer needing to complete an event and series 2 years ago and never got paid. That's a stand up guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other guy is a Di*ck. |
