Default which driveshaft to get?

I am geting ready for some 1/8 mile passes. Saturday I finally hooked up a trans brake. I tryed it on the street and everything was good. On the way back car had a vibration. Tonight I found the source of the vibration while running the car on the stands. Weights on the driveshaft are coming loose and one of them is gone. I can see the marking on the muffler from it. I always had a small vibration on top end and now I think I found it. I never had aftermarket driveshaft before. Which one is good? I am trying to find someone local, around LA area.

Cool Drive shaft

any good driveline place will be able to help you out. Depending on how much power your putting out they can recommend whether to rebalance the one you have or make you another. If you get it rebalanced I would replace all the joints too.

Look in the yellow pages under drivelines or the automobile section. I know of Bobs driveline service up in the Victorville area or there is a good one in San Bernardino. but in the LA area there should be a bunch to pick from.

Look up Southern California Gathering of the Goats or Maybe call Pacific Performance Racing and talk to Ken. 310-832-4596

I bought one from drive shaft specialists out of texas. Very helpful and very fast. Good price also.

Some of the driveshaft performance outfits have a 4-6 week or more backlog.

Arrow Custom TUFF d/shaft...............

Hi Serge,

See/call Bill Mann @ Drive Line Service, 11640 Washington Blvd., Whittier CA, 562-698-0224. They are located close to BDS and Taylor Engine Service, about 5 miles east of the 605. Bill made me a custom Chromoly 3" shaft w/ soild u/joints and beefy yokes for $300 in 2006.

By the way, many of the old Pontiac Drag Days guys are racing the Summit series @ Fontana and we also raced last Sunday @ Barona (see "Show & Go" thread in the events section). You are invited to join us .

Les
