Default The Paddock

Needed some OEM engine paint, Classic Ind was out, OPG doesn't carry, so I ordered from Paddock. They were $10 more expensive PER CAN, and shipping was $21.95!!! I guess that's the reason I don't do business with them...

Why would you slam a company that fully posted its rates and policies in the open prior to you spending your cash. So they are too expensive? It is your right to not do business as it is their right to charge whatever they feel is right for their ggods and services.

You have not been ripped off in any way so you have no right to b1tch about their company.
What if they went on line and ranted that you are too cheap and should not be in the pontiac hobby......get a life buddy and find something important to moan about..

Besides why didn't you order from Pontiac Years.......you are on their site using it for free......

It's time weed out the village idiots

You have to forgive him. The Paddock is a SoCal company and he's in SoCal. Buying rattle-can paint in California can be an adventure just to find it, CARB rules and all... I believe you can't ship rattle-can paint into California, either.

But you're 100% correct, if the price is posted, the freight charges stated clearly, he has no reason to complain. If he got "screwed", it was self-abuse...(:-

Default Plastikote 227

I just picked up 2 cans for 10 bucks. It might not be 100% correct, for a 68 block going into a 67 LeMans, but I couldn't find Dupli-color 1616.

The crazy thing is, when I first bought my GTO in 2000, I thought I was the luckiest guy in the world because they had a "Paddock" warehouse just down the street from me In Clearwater, Florida. Showroom, warehouse, a restorers dream.....until you went to pick up GTO parts from a GTO resto parts dealer, guess what? No GTO parts at our warehouse, we gotta order them from Indiana??? Ohio??? WTF? I said. You have a GTO catalog but I have to wait two weeks for parts? I was done with them day one. The showroom and warehouse closed up for good soon after. Chuck West and his staff were nice, just had nothing but late model Mustang and Camaro parts in stock in Florida.

You can go to the local automotive paint store they can mix up any color an put it in a spray can or a quart. Here in detroit all the paint stores do it about $8.00 a can. That is what the parts supplier are doing. Od auto zone has the dupicolor in spray can.

I live 40 minutes from the Paddock in Indiana, been 10+ years since I bought anything from them, wasted a trip there a few weeks ago looking for grill emblem clips. they said on the phone they had several varieties to choose from. what they had were the nuts for the body emblems. went to the local Rural King Farm store, they had them LOL!!

First of all, jerk off - and yes, since you've insulted me I will stoop to your level, sparky - who are you calling an idiot??? Read my post, at no time did I say I got RIPPED OFF...I said their prices and shipping were high, and I won't do business with them anymore...

Second of all, I've got a life, obviously YOU don't, how did my post hit such a nerve???

Thirdly, I own 3 cars, they're all in great shape, so how does that make me too cheap to be in this hobby??? And no, I'm not rolling in money, but I am cost effective...

I was in a hurry to get out of my office on a Friday, leaving for vacation that night and was going to be gone for a week, my builder was at a standstill and needed paint. Paddock was the 3rd company I called, they wouldn't price match ($20, no big deal, I'm not that poor...) and the shipping was out of line. Plus it took almost a week to get the paint. Caveat Emptor...do you know what that means, Einstein??? Look it up, sparky. I fully take resonsibilty for MY actions. However, Pacific Performance shipped me a bigger & heavier box for the paltry sum of $6.50. Oh, am I too cheap to buy from Ken??? Was I being cheap when I asked him if it would be cheaper to drive to his shop and pick up my order? By the way, he told me no, it's a light box, shipping will be less than $10.00.

To all others who posted...thanks for the feedback. I didn't know PY and Kragen carried that correct color, if I had time I would've made a post regarding that issue and gone from there. You know how it is, you start seeing progress on a project and you tend to jump the gun. I've researched everything else for that 455 build, and have saved quite a few $$$ doing so. I was very surprised that OPG doesn't carry OEM Paints, and Classic had it on backorder. I honestly thought I could drive down and pick it up from either of those two.

As for you, O2Sparky, maybe you're French Canadian, and you surrender your money to the first vendor you contact, and expect others to do so as well. Why don't you go shovel some snow or something...and if you ARE French Canadian, go surrender to something...

Sparky.....Wow that took some imagination.

First of all......I did read your post...You were giving a company a thumbs down because you choose NOT to do business with them. They did not rip you off nor did they attempt to be less than honest in any dealings with you. My basic premise of the reply was to use some sarcasm to point out that your post was useless.

Also please read carefully on the sentence I used the word "cheap" on. I did not accuse you of that. Go back and reread that. Maybe I should write it in french!

As you are trying to insult me by using the french angle, please carry on.....I find it amusing that between your "Introduction to hippy lettuce 101" classes and "counting to three" at some Californian school of higher learning, you didn't study GEOGRAPHY. Quebec is the french province and Alberta is 3000 miles distant.

Also you havn't studied history either as the French Canadians have never surrendered. They were defeated once by the English in Quebec City, but did not surrender. You have the wrong country there my village friend.

Salut mon ami
Le Sparky
