What a disappointment
I call you (stockton) guys on 11-26-07 and ask if you can make a new 14x6 Pontiac rally JA for a Judge to my surprise you say yes. I get quoted a $125.00 and 4-6 weeks. I call 2 more times to confirm all the information and tell you guys who I am and what kind of cars I work on (the concourse kind). Since I do not trust anybody to take directions over the phone I Send you a sample JA wheel to match and write the notes all over it followed by a letter stating all my concerns and postcard with one of my cars. The biggest concern is the front offset of the wheel center to the rim - it must be correct. You guys told me no problem. My original wheel shipped to you on 11-29-07 and I waited and waited for a phone call that never came – so I called 2 weeks after I sent the wheel and they were working on them. They also now stated the wheels would be $150.00 each not the quoted$125.00 and since they had my original wheel and I spent time on the whole thing I nervously said ok. On 12-20-07 I got a sales order in the mail and my credit card was charged the full amount. A few weeks went by and I called again near 2-15-08 and I was told the wheels were half done and they were shipping on 2-26-08 and I would have them a few days later. Since I am a business owner and do not have time to follow up I gave it a couple of weeks. The next time I called more excuses and a new ship date. That date came and went. It is now 3-20-08 and this has been paid on my credit card for 3 months and nothing. I called again on 3-26-08 the next promised ship date and they told me I could get the tracking number at the end of the day. I called at the end of the day and he had to find it can call me back. I told him I would not hold my breath. Finally got back to it again on 4-3-08 and called again. More lies and run around. They said they would have the tracking number to me at the end of the day and I would have the wheels tomorrow. I told him I just wanted the tracking number and I would verify it myself. He gave me the number on 4-4-08 and of course it was not a good number active number. I tried the number again on Monday - I almost fell out of my chair the number was good. The wheels arrived on 4-10-08 , four months later. The centers are used, cut from used wheels – you can see light pitting – it was also to be new, the rim was new and my biggest concern the front offset of the wheel about ¼ inward making this wheel look the same as any other junk Pontiac rally. You are not even capable of making a JA wheel – the way the center is cut out it takes the support lip out of the wheel and it cannot be pushed forward that far. The only thing good was the welds on the back side and the paint. The communication flat out sucks, the offset is wrong, waited 4 months, and still do not have a wheel that can be used on the car to call it correct. I guess all the chat board guys were right. I figured no company could be this bad – but you proved me wrong. John Kryta:gag: |

did you send this to stockton so they'll actually see it?
you should if not. also, have your credit card company institute a chargeback. (though it may be too late). word of wisdom - if you think there's a problem, get it on the record immediately with your charge comany, even if you're not ready to file a grievance. this will help your case hugely should you have to follow through.

They cut the old center out of a used wheel and there is not much welding area. Now that they are not the right offset there is no way enough material to cut it out again. They are not going to scrap them and start over. read more if you want http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2997691 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2984814 :gag: |

I was thinking about ordering a set of chrome reverse Milners from Stockton but ran into this brick wall.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=182382
Shame, they have the exact wheel I always wanted. Can anybody recommend any wheel builders? Last edited by PITTSBURGH 64; 11-25-2008 at 11:31 PM. |

They "used" to be really good. Something must have changed. New owners, kids took over etc.
Sorry to hear that.

Hi guys..
I was recently looking for a company to widen some racing wheels for my winter project.. and i came across a company called.. Weldcraft wheels.. in Michigan.. After calling them.. telling them what I needed..and getting a price... I shipped my wheels.. with instructions.. and was quite pleased that when I drove out the five hours to pick them up.. they were ready.. they were right.. and the price was exactly what I was quoted. Not to mention.. great people to deal with. Highly recommended! Here's their link http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/ Take care guys! Norm |

Norm,
Thanks for the link. I had talked to Stockton about building a set of 15x8" stamped steel wheels, and was given the run around on my 1st call. I wasn't happy with any answers given (all simple questions - offset, nubs for dog dish caps, etc). Then they told me a minimum of 6 weeks. I thought it would be something they would hav in stock. I will contact weldcraft when I'm ready for this project.
