Default 74 formula project





learning how to paint through the spi forum paint forums & here all online piece by piece in "friends" garage ...
spi paint, menzerna polish, cheap astro gun and cheap hf buffer...sure beats the local body shops...left fender,shaker and hood...now for the rest...

'74 formula 400, w/shaker (3 scoops) black deluxe interior, '70 406 balanced assembly, .30 trw slugs, moly rings, 4x heads 2.11/1.77 stainless valves, ra 4 cam, e-rpm intake, holley 750 vac. sec, msd hei, hooker headers w/ dual 3'' flowmaster 50 series ending at axle, t400 w/ GM6 convertor, transgo shift kit, b&m starshifter, 3.08 gears, centerlines, 265/50-15 bfg's rear and 235/60-15 front...yes im over cammed but it is still very fun...

Lookin' good! Your first time painting? I've been learning while I do all my bodywork on my goat and when it's ready for some paint squirted on it I plan on tackling that too. Are you spraying base coat/clear coat? That black looks great. There is another guy on this forum that also frequents autobody101.com and he is painting his bird black one panel at a time and his results so far looks great too. You and him just give me the confidence that I can do it too.

Good luck and keep us up to date on the progress.

Here's a few pics of where I am with my goat. This is after boardsanding the first coat of primer filler and then spraying a second three coats of primer filler.

yeah its spi black and universal clear..it seems being a painter includes being a sculptor too... i wish i could paint the whole car at once but i just dont have the resources and time...
