Default Wyotech

I am thinking about going to Wyotech and I was wondering if anyone had been or knew any information about how creditable they are. Or if there are any other automotive schools with a good reputation? Also what kind of opportunities would their be after such an education?

One of my best friends just signed up his 19 yr old son to attend the Wyotech school in central PA. They have a great reputation, but is pretty expensive.

For the classes he's taking the cost was just under $25K. They have off campus housing for them as well. They are VERY strict, you can't be late for class and must do the work.

sdbob, if you know of any flexible hour work in the area I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Besides the local eaterys across the road is a Walmart and Advanced auto. The local town of Blairsville is ok nice old town.there has been reported an influx of drugs. The area was coal mining/trucking.There is a large coal fueled electric generating plant directly behind the school in the small town of Homer city. The local 1/4 mile strip is about 5 miles away. There are like most towns small businesss' of the mom pop variety, service, repairing, etc. I haven't ahd the need to look for a job there.Seems like most small towns, once thriving are just surviving.the school does bring alot of students in for food etc. There are rental properties in the town, the school is outside the town on Rt 22.The original Vale tech automotive school was directly in town. if you need further info PM me,I'll try to help.

I went thru the ASEP (Automotive Service Education Program) program. Its a program sponsored by General Motors and held at selected community colleges thru out the country. Its a 2 year program that gets you your GM certifications and also an AA degree in science. There are also such programs for Toyota and Ford. I really wanted to work on GM vehicles and work in the dealership so it workd out really well. Wyotech is also a very good school. Would recommend that also. Education is power. Good luck.

I have heard its a very good school, Shop around as there are others but it is indeed one of the top 3. Watch out for the student loans as they will bite you in the azz. I believe the also have a very good aviation program too.

Consider thier deisel program. Especially if you kave any inclination to go into the military down the road.
