Unhappy QUINNIPIAC COLLEGE SHOW

I met up with some fellow friends, & PY MEMBERS. It was a great day, a great time BUT VERY EXPENSIVE.........
Gas the truck up $60 for the drive up. gas for the car is 112 octane $8 a gallon. $12 to get in. $30 for food. $30 back in the truck to make sure i get home. This show was only 45 mins away. THIS COUNTRY IS CHOKING US TO DEATH..... i can barley afford to this anymore.......
I think it sux that i can enjoy my hobby after all the fricken hardwork i do all fricken week.......

& still not win a trophy..... the highest number i saw on a show card was 1200.
i honestly thought the car show circuit would have been soft but to date thats the largest number of cars at that show EVER.

pictured are my Pro street car my POPS AC cobra & NAPPYs 70 GTO JUDGE, & few other cars i like. WE had the hottest corner of the lot all day... & yet still lost...... OH WELL
always a great time with friends & family so i cant complain much

Trophies are overrated. You had fun at the show and I bet people enjoyed your car. That's what counts.

Scott, I know a lot of guys who were going to that show.
I went up to Musclepalooza up at Lebanon Valley. I was surprised that even with gas prices as high as they are that the turnout was what looked like the best ever. Show cars from all over the Northeast, including the '66 Tin Indian car and the black Super Duty that wowed everyone at Norwalk last August, and HUNDREDS upon Hundreds of race cars, including almost 40 cars in F.A.S.T.

I think that gas prices will affect the long trips, but the regional shows will still do OK.

Agreed: We had a fantastic turnout for the Year One Experience two weekends ago (see my thread) and just this past holiday weekend, there was the 12th annual F-Body Gathering at the Marriott in Marietta where we had the BOP show about three weeks ago. I drove through the F-Body gathering and they had a great turnout. I was in my new Pontiac G-8 GT and it drew a lot of attention as I cruised up and down the rows admiring all the F-Body cars.

I do believe that the regional shows will do well in spite of everythng. Glad you took a break from the Judge resto and got out to a show Scott! That car is amazing.

BJ
