Default Need Help Decoding 65 Convert.

Can someone help me with decoding this car please?
I was in a small town on business recently and spotted; what appeared to be, a neglected 65 GTO convertible. I left a note on the front door of the house and I actually got a call the other day. Turns out, the guy will sell it. This is the information he gave me over the phone:
VIN: 237675P366900

Trim Tag:
65 TR 212 N2
D2WP
4F 5W

I'm not sure if it's a factory GTO or a Lemans. Can someone tell by the VIN? Also, Original Colors? The drivetrain is not original but it could be a nice driver w/ some work.
Thanks,
Mark

99% chance it is a Lemans not a factory goat (no "5N" code).

23767 = Lemans Convertible
P = Pontiac, MI Built

212 = ? trim color code Sure it's not 213 (black)
N = Burgundy metallic
2 = Black convetible top

2WP = Auto Trans and radio
4F = Remote Mirror
5W = Custom seat belts

Good luck!

Being that it is a Pontiac Built Vehicle and not having the 5N says that it was most likely
a LeMans at one time. Most 65 verts (even LeMans) will make nice drivers if not too much work is involved. Nice deal about finding one in decent shape is you can put in the bigger engine, the later Chrysler Vert high back intergral shoulder belt seats, better brakes, etc and never have to look back about messing with a real GTO.

Tom,
I would be interested in hearing more about those high back seats.

Thanks Guys. 8k for a LeMans that's not really roadworthy is a bit steep.

Not really, according to the condition of the body, completeness of car, etc.

If you look at the Chrysler seat offerings in the Convertibles the last 5 years, you will see that they offered Leather Power Seats with Shoulder Seat Belts built into the seat itself. I have a set of these seats. Working on the mounting strategy presently.

Default 65 Convertible

Did you get a chance to look the car over? Does it have a 389? 77 heads? woodgrain dash? Any other GTO stuff on the car? You never know, $8k for a 65 GTO Convert is a deal... PHS should be run.
