Default Exhaust Pipe Gaskets?

Just bought a new set of metal exhaust manifold gaskets for my 64 goat 389 and I see that in the package there are also round gaskets that look like they would fit between the exhaust flanges of the manifolds and the exhaust pipes. In all of my years of dealing with Pontiac A bodies (since 1970) I've never seen these things used on any of them. Anyone else used these things or should I just toss them?
