I don't understand what you're wanting?

Do you need a distributor worked on?
Wanting to verify what a distributor came from?

Or?

If it's part number checking for applications you need. John's website Wallace Racing is great for that. He helped me very much when I did an article on verifying 1975 and 1976 Trans Am 455 HO engines. It's coming out on bandittransamclub site in a few days.

He needs someone - better aquainted with distributor stampings than myself - to authenticate a couple of '69 Ram Air distributors.

Thanks, I see what you need now.

I don't know of anyone specifically, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people here.

I do know that the distributor body has 'rings' or 'striations' going around the main body from the factory. To 're-do' a number, these would have to be ground out to get rid of the old original number.

So, no 'rings' probably re-stamped.

If you need to know what a distributor number is for, I might be able to help.

I have sold lots of RA dist. and have lots of the date codes and can tell you if the date is correct. ie. 941, 952, 970, 2012 etc. the 970 was used on late after jan. 1969 WS and some WT motors.
all my dist work is done by ignition engeering out in CA. and they do superb work. they are doing 2 970 for me right now. a march and may dates. and I have a jan. on the way.

I haven't dealt with them personally but both dealers I mentioned sell re-stamped distributors on Ebay. Just thought you should know.

Here is a RA IV distr for a 69 for reference. Note: the mill marks and font difference.

That would be a 1969 RAIII Firebird or T/A unit. I realize that the parts books show the 1111952 application being for a 69 GTO or Judge as well. However, my experience has shown the 1111970 to be far more common in the "A" body and the 1111952 in the "F" body. I did sell a 1952 about 10 months ago. That is one of the hardest distributors to find next to the 1970 RAIV 1112011. This rarity is due to the fact that the 1111970 appeared in far more vehicles than did the 1111952.
