I was wondering if my "puff puff" exhaust sound at idle is coming from the reversed connection at the tail pipes. My engine has a RA-4 cam with lots of overlap. These are Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers going into a Pipes exhaust system.

I was going to have a small piece of pipe made up to correct this connection at the rear of the muffler.

I found out what the trouble was. I didn't have the rear clamp close enough to the muffler the tail pipe end wasn't seated right. That tail pipe should be expanded to fit over the muffler end not in it.....

I do like the sound of the Super Turbo #17749 but I've been reading that its restrictive compared to the Ultra Flow. I wonder if its restrictive enough to make a difference?

In the video, I ran it to 2000 then 3000 and made a couple 5000 blips.....

I doubt you would notice much difference in performance between the ST and Ultra Flow on your car. I'm running the 2.5" 17749's and managed the ET's in my sig. The mufflers are at least 12 years old and although still pretty quiet are in need of replacement.

Will probably switch out to 3" straight through type mufflers and report back on performance gains if any. Thinking of going with the Magnaflow large case 5x11 22" long 12578. Suppose to be almost as quiet as the 17749 Dynomax but will be a tight fit.

Your car sounds almost exactly like mine in that clip.
