Question Which motor mounts??

Which motor mounts should I use to put a 1972 block into a 67 Lemans?? The set I had were for a 455 and do not work. They were given to me with a 455 block 1976...is that why they didn't fit? Can I use regular mounts that I could get from any parts store?? In a hurry since the motor is just sitting waiting to go in car.

Thanks in advance.

Most 76 blocks only have provisions for the late style 3 bolt mounts. You will need motor mount adaptors to put that block in your car.

Use the same mounts that were used in the 67, as I am sure you can see there are five bolt holes in the 72 block. Two are used for the 64-69 blocks and the three bolt for "most" 70+ cars, I say most because the 70-72 a-body & 73-74 x-body cars still used the "old" two bolt style mounts.

This is the correct information, 77-79 were the years to only have the later bosses for the late style 3 bolt mounts in the standard deck engines. 70-76 have the universal block with 5 bolts to mount both styles of mounts. 59-69 have only the early style 2 bolt mounts on them. All the 301s and 265s from 77-81 (short deck engines) have only the 3 bolts for the later style mounts. You don't need adapters for your block, just use the stock 67 LeMans mounts from a parts store, the holes are already there.
