I'm working on a 400 block we are converting to a 428. We have one of Ace's 428 kits here with the ultralight Tomahawk rods. Just wanted to say that I checked it all out and the crank is right on size, the polish looks good, and the thrust looks good. I checked the rods and pistons out and the rods big end were right on size. The pin bushings all had .0006"-.0007" clearance, just right for a street engine. The pistons all had .0007" pin clearance. Checked the balance on the parts and the crank. All rods were within .4 grams and the pistons were within .3 grams of each other. Made up some bobweights and spun the crank and it was within 1 gram! All in all, I am very happy with this kit as most kits we see from other places[not talking about just Pontiac dealers here] are usually not what they should be and we end up spending a fair amount of time making them right. This kit was right on the money. I was very pleased to see that I didn't have to redo anything.
