Greetings friends, I am posting this because it's the second time I've had serious problems with this company. I called and Last May, I decided to buy a complete interior kit from Legendary interiors for my 66 Le Mans. So, because the first time I had problems, I called ahead of time, and talked with a man who called himself Dick. I told him I was going to send my seats both front and back, after I had everything removed from them so they could sell me the kits, as well as rebuild my seats for me. Dick, gave me a RAM number, and I was ready a few days later, and called him with the RAM number, and my tracking number. He asked me to send all the seat hardware, and a sample of the interior, which I did.
So, my seats arrived at Legendary, on June 1, 2009. A couple of days later after not hearing from Dick who said he'd let me know as soon as the made it there, I called and he was busy. I left a message with my RAM number, name, and contact number. three days passed without a call, and then it was the weekend. Monday I called again and Dick, said he did not know that they came in, but would look at them, and get back with me. He also asked if I send the hardware and sample which I confirmed. Well, no returned calls, so I left messages once on a voice mail and once with some younger sounding man who said he would look into it and get right back with me. Sure, and I'm going to find a 69 TA in my shop tomorrow. NO call back, so messages were left again and again. I, was leaving messages for Dick, who was supposed to be handling my order from the start. Keep in mind, when you buy Legendary interior, it's good and it cost as such. But paying to have them also rebuild your seats, is simply expensive, but they do good work. So, decide the cost of shipping the seats, and everything and then have this company, treat you like they are in wonderful times, and can pick and choose who and when to work for. What really angers me about this, is this basically same thing happened a couple of years ago, when I had them do my 67 GTO interior. To resolve it, the company owner, and manager dealt with me and made it right. I was also promised by them when the time came for me to buy my 66 interior, nothing like that would happen again. Well, I'm hear to tell you it has, and it's still going on. My car has been ready for interior for a long time now. So, after two months, this means first part of this month, I call again. This time I'm told that this Dick, is on vacation for two weeks. I, think he's been gone for a whole lot longer. Maybe he's Legendary's "promise machine" A recorded voice, that promises you they will take care of your order, in these poor economic times, because they need to survive and that means being careful to treat people spending a lot of money with them well. Forget it, it just ain't a happening thing, and I do not lie, or stretch the truth. So, after about a week, I get directed to another man named Brian. Brian, also tels me he's look into my order, and that he's not aware of it personally. Well, he became aware of it. And in fact, it sat at Legendary, for two months, and not a single person had touched it, or opened the boxes. In fact, my box with the hardware pieces and sample were not with the rest of the boxed seats. Front and rear seats. A couple of days passed, and Brian called me back to tell me he still had not located the hardware and sample. The sample by the way was almost twenty four inches long, by eight inches. Hardware, were seat hinges, and sliders, mounting bolts and so on. I missed a call from Brian, because of the time zone difference, so I called and left a message with him. After talking with him, and an apology, remembering who I was from the first time, he said he'd give me a discount, and that if I ordered the seat rebuild, and the interior kit, I'd get a discount on the other interior pieces. not the seats. Well, Legendary's detailed seat service is expensive, and the ad makes it look like for the price of the premium service, rather then the basic installation, the media blasting and painting the springs in included. Look at the catalog, you'll see what I mean. But WRONG. The media blasting and painting is an extra $400.00. Now, my car was a South California car it's whole life. When I tore the seats down to the metal for the most part looked factory new. But, after I found out the premium service did not include the media blasting and painting, I complained and agreed to have it done. Brian explained to me after I asked why it was so expensive, that it was so labor involved, and it took a long time and a lot of work to get all the tiny areas. So, I had already decided to go with the blasting and painting so fine. But, that same after noon, when I called back to see if they had located my hardware because I forgot to ask that first call earlier. Brian, said in a happy manner, my seats were blasted and painted already. So, why the hard sell, and high price? I don't know, it sure wasn't because my seats were bad, or that it is as difficult and time consuming as they said it was. Well, Brian had told me he'd sell me the kit and service for a price, and it was a big savings. I, said I wanted him to send me a list of what I got in that price. And then, I'd decide what if anything else I anted to buy from them. No list was sent, and I waited a few days. Called Brian, left messages, and he'd call back at odd hours when I was still sleeping. However, you'd think he'd send another email. After all, Legendary had it. They had it on file from my first problem with them, as well as from when Dick took my order for this one and gave me an RAM number. Anyway, to get done with this, Brian talked with me yesterday finely, and said he'd sent the list I requested twice. But, I never got anything. I do get a lot of advertising from Legendary though, which is odd to me. So, yesterday when talking with Brian, he said since he's sent the list I wanted twice, I needed to email him and he'd send it again. So that is where I'm at now. I want to caution people that although Legendary interior is a very fine product, buy it from the other vendors, rather then from Legendary. They make make a good product, but the people who work for them, I feel do then a disservice, as well as make life hard for people who are spending money in times when it's not easy to do. After Brian talked with me today, I requested that he allow m to speak with the owner or manager again, like the first time I had this same problem. I, wanted to ask the owner or manager, why after promising me I'd never have happen to me what happened the first time. Why, it has? No, it's not me. I busted my butt, to make sure I did everything fast, paid for packaging, and even fallowed the shipment. What is unspeakable, is that after two months, Legendary, had not even opened the boxes of my order. And if I had not said something so many times, and called, left messages, and everything. My seats, may have never been started for several months. So, love their product, and I recommend it. But, stay as far away from the company as you can, and buy it through a vendor. That way, you have someone who will listen to you, and treat you like the profit you are, rather then the overhead they are. BY the way, I as told about this discount from Brian for all my problems right? Well, I have a financial background, meaning in accounting and I count money real well. After looking over the advertised discounts sent to my email. The same email Brian said he's sent my list to? His discount, is bogus. My discount is the same ones anyone else would get, if they placed an order with them. So now, I have left him (Brian) a message calling him on this, and I'll decide once I hear back from him. If I'm going to just pay for my seats and buy the rest through vendors? Or, hope they have some ability to have what I need, and will not continue to mes up and play like it's almost an impossibility this ever happened. I know, because this is the very same thing they did, the first time I bought a complete kit from them. Yes, that time they made up for it as best they could. But their promise, (and they knew I'd be returning for my 66 Le Mans) that it would never happen again. Oh gee, talk is cheap. It has happened, and once again, I've beaten my head against a wall, trying to understand what can be so difficult about something they specialize in each and every day. Don't Tread On Me, I Bite !! :) Good day friends. I'll keep this updated, if i can still do it after this section has changed. Mike Fisher in Clackamas, Oregon

I really appreciate the reviews and such about the companies I will/will not be dealing with in the future. I must say...its one of the main reasons I joined this site. OK...other than the information and insight I have gained from these forums, which has been sooo invaluable to me. I just hope word gets back to these companies that we pay attention.

Your other choice is PUI.

You got that right Charles. My PUI front seat covers suck big time. They don't even come close to matching the original rear seat in my 66.

Please don't mistake my intentions here. Their product is excellent, it's their work, and their lack of decent customer service, that is so bad. And, after this happened to me with my 67, to promise me it's would never happen again? And yeah, I made it known, when I called and received my RMA number so they would sign for the seats, who I am, and what had happened to first time. Now, I may also have something to post about the 67 Interior but need to make darn sure first. Just be careful, and remember the work and shipping of the seats is an additional grand or so above the materials, so first rate work should be expected. And polite treatment is a must at all times.

I just found out, that although they do list both in their catalogs. Legendary interiors, DOES NOT have either the Aqua, or Teal colors for any of the Pontiac cars. Of course, I was informed I could dye a white interior. So, if you need either of these colors???Brian, told be these were not just back ordered, rather they didn't have these colors. And, they wont be having them.

just found out, that although they do list both in their catalogs. Legendary interiors, DOES NOT have either the Aqua, or Teal colors for any of the Pontiac cars. Headliner, sail panels, sun visors, and so on.
I was informed (By Legendary) I could dye their white interior. So, if you need either of these colors???Brian, told be these were not just back ordered, rather they didn't have these colors. And, they wont be having them. I also asked why they advertise these colors in all years and was told he didn't know. In all fairness though, I was shown that I could buy a Buick pattern that was close in color. But so far away in design, it would look awful. So, I asked what about the other companies, such as PUI? The Legendary rep named Brian, said they all buy the same headliners and sail panels. So, these pieces are not made in house at Legendary, according to Brian. I will call our host on Monday and see if they can get me a head liner from any other vendor who has the correct color and pattern. I hope I'm not given another warning for this post like my last one. Seems because I posted it here and in the year and car sections it was considered to be SPAM. I, consider it a obligation to people ready to spend several hundred dollars or more with a company who's not doing what they promise. That's fact, not my own opinion. It's stated i writing in their own catalog, as a promise. Mike in Oregon __________________ Build it fast, build it right, hold On TIGHT !!!
