Default Kids put Dawn in Dishwasher

I feel like I am stuck in a Brady BUnch episode and I can't get out!

I called my Dad, who had also done this in the past, and you'd think two chemists would be able to figure this out, but the mechanical variables of the dishwasher and the cycle at which it adds water and sprays water (hence making more suds) has us baffled...

What do I do? I've tried salt to cut the bubbles with limited success. I've tried emptying the water at the bottom of the washer by hand, but it seems there is still Dawn in the inner tubing of the dishwasher.

Any ideas????

Not sure if it will work, but I know putting Coke into things clean them out(works good in an iron). Maybe that would help?

Run it thru the rise cycle and clean the mess up after it's done.

I think everyone who owns a dishwasher has done this at one time or another.

It's great entertainment if it's not your house!

Try bubble bath in a jacuzzi sometime!- But oil/vinegar is the answer. If that fails toss in some lettuce and you got a start on dinner.

Just add some fabric softener (liquid) like Downey.
We use it to control the foaming in our vibratory/tumblers at work.

Go down to one of those places that rents rug shampooers like Rug Doctor and buy a bottle of defoamer.

get some Alcohol ( methanol is prefered , its in windshield wiper fluid) as it will break the surface tension , thats what they use at the soap plant I deliver too . pour it in the dish washer , and spray iton the excess bubbles , remeber to cycle the dishwasher several times before reusing it to clear the methanol out of the unit .

Vinegar and salt was all I needed. Worked like a charm. I had done that to begin with, but apparently i wasn't using enough. Apparently they filled not just the dispenser, but also the "extra" dispenser for the really dirty loads....

It's not that she didn't know better. She just thought, "why not?" Well, now she knows!

OK Rob, I'm confused.

I thought that in Indiana, loading the dishwasher meant getting the wife drunk.

So, just where does the Dawn come into play here?

Funny how it was YOUR kid that contacted ME via cell phone text, and not my own when they BOTH have the ability to send and WE BOTH have the ability to receive.

I think there was a little conference going on before hand of "You call your Mom", "No way, you call your Dad"... and we see how that ended up...

It did end up being a good conversation for the next 30 minutes of the party with people chiming in "Oh yeah, I did that back in College!"

Must be something with women who are named Dawn... the only bright spot they create is the day they were born...

After you get done greasing her down with all the Jergens....you give her a mexican whores bath with the pressure washer using a little shot of Dawn to cut and wash away the grease.
