I cant get the tailpipes to fit right.
Im trying to fit them without the rear bumper on and need to know measurements so they will look right once bumper is on.
Could someone that has this system take a pic of the tailpipe hanger and placement of straight part of tailpipe to the frame.
Im also using the polished trumpet extensions and would like to see where those go since the bumper isnt on yet.

I have the 3 inch pypes system on my car. I dont have any photos of the section that you are looking for but I know what you are asking about. The mounts go into the holes on the exterior of the frame that are already there. They are about half way between the axle and the rear of the frame.

As far as your tail pipes goes, I would not do any final fitting or welding on any of the system without putting your bumper on first. You want to make sure that things are exactly where you want them so you dont have to cut and repair later.

I have it temporarily clamped until the motors in and bumpers on,
agree nothing is final until the rest of stuff is finished.
But the tailpipe angle is way off(yes the hangers are correctly placed),
almost like the last bend in pipe is too much.

Went through this a couple months back. As I recall, we trimmed 2 inches off the tailpipes, slid the extentions on and the final length from the hanger to the end of the extention was 19 1/2. This length was a personal preference. It kind of depends how
far you want the extentions past the bumper. Mine are pretty much under the bumper.

Mac thanks for the measurment,but The problem I have is that the tailpipe is not parallel to the rear frame and space between the 1/4 panel. So this makes the tailpipe spay.
I havent cut anything yet....but it is all together except for the headpipes.

When I first installed my pypes set I thought that I had the same problem. I found that if you rotate the tail pipe/axle loop(??) even a little bit then the angle of the tail pipe changes alot. Your axle clearence stays basically the same but you get a different angle on the rear section of pipe. I will include some photos of how mine looks.

center to center on these please.
rear pipe(exit) of mufflers at hangers
inlet to mufflers(pipe)
inlet to X at crossmember(pipe)

Mine looks like it should be 24 inches CtoC at exit of mufflers
but when assembled is 26.5 inches
inlet to mufflers is 14.25
This difference could be made up by cutting some off the pipes coming out of the X,which would move mufflers and tailpipes closer together,and straighten up the tailpipes in relationship to the frame and 1/4. Ive tried rotating the tailpipe but it never gets straight with frame and 1/4.

I have the Pypes 2 1/2" system and the mufflers don't fit where they should and my muffler guy said basicly it is what it is. I found out you should install these kits from back to front, I don't know if this would help your problem but just a thought. Good luck.

I would love to get you some measurements BUT my car is at the paint shop for final prep work. I expect to have it home for the weekend. If you can wait till then I will measure it up and get you the numbers. I went with the 3 inch exhaust but center to center should still be close.

I remember cutting the pipes both infront of the X and behind. Behind the X was just a trim (half inch off) but in front was more like 2 to 4 or even 6 inches off (it was 7 months ago so my memory is a little fuzzy). I put on dougs headers (obviously from the pics) so I had to get the header extensions from pypes too.

I will get back to you when I get my car home.

Chris says no cutting is needed on anything except the headpipes.
I say the tailpipe angle needs to change by moving the mufflers closer together,
which can be done by cutting the pipes coming out of the "X".

Well I think I have found out what the problem is.....
I took all the part# stickers off and low and behold
the left side tailpipe(one that fits the worst) had been cut
and welded.What stinks about the whole thing is that the sticker
was intentionally placed over the weld to hide it.
Im sure that the angle is off by enough when welded back together
to put it out of alignment.

Sorry I couldent get you those measurements this weekend. My car was not ready when promised. Surprise!! If I did that to my customers in my work, it wouldent take long and I wouldent have to worry about them being customers anymore.

Sounds like you may have solved the problem. Let me know if you still want the info from my system. When it finally is ready then I will measure it up for you.

My system had the same weld on the right tailpipe. I think they did that because their bender wouldn't do that shape in that direction.

If I remember right, I had to jockey things around alot to get things looking right. I'm sure I started from back to front, thats how I've always done it. Make sure all of the arrows are pointing foward, I seem to rember initially installing something backwards that seemed to cause me alot of grief.

Cammer, I also have the SGA10 system. I bought it May of last year and it's still boxed up. Because of this thread I unpacked it tonight. I discovered that my left side tail pipe (still in bubble wrap) has the same sticker. And it is placed directly over the welded joint!!! WHAT a coincidence, because the right side pipe does not have a sticker within 2 feet of that area, and it has not been cut either.
How long have you had your system?

This isnt my car Im just doing a frame on build from a bare shell for someone else.
System was bought in June.
I still say something is wrong with the angle on that pipe.
ITS NOT the INSTALLATION !
Goatman55 are you sure it wasnt left side(drivers side) thats spliced?
