Default Your final wish?

I was reading the thread about the crypt above Marilyns being for sale and it got me to thinking. (I know, BAD idea) What would be your final resting place?
I have told my wife to have me cremated and my ashes put into some artificial worms. Then, give them to my buddies and let them take me fishing one last time!

My wife has already been buried, so I will be buried with her. She always said she would bury me in the '64 GTO, but she didn't get the chance.

Thats actually what the guy who was in the crypt above her had wanted, and what his wife had done. Followed his wishes.

Burried him face down just above MM's resting place. She needs the $ now to pay off
the house so moving him to less costly digs, same address.

Story details are posted in the other thread in lobby with article link.

She was wanting big money for the crypt, but upon last look the auction wasnt that strong unless it spiked at the end.

Really sorry to hear of the lose of your wife. Maybe her dream will come true one day. My wife would probably do the same. Hopefully we all live a long life and nobody will think of these things.

I was in the Airforce...originally I thought it'd be good to have my ashes scattered from an aircraft (we used to do this occasionally)....that was until a new Padre was doing his thing out the side door and instead of carefully pouring the ashes outside the doorway, he threw them at the open door from inside.
Well, I don't think the next of kin would find it too pleasing to know their dear departed ended up spread all over the inside of my aircraft, the Padre and myself....his ashes now grace the the parking apron at my old airbase.
Side note - did you know that "ashes" aren't really ash? They taste rather gritty between the teeth....Does that make me a cannibal if I didn't swallow?

Cremated with a service in my own home the way it used to be.
Funerals are big bucks & big business.
I don't want anyone to make money off of my death.
Would rather see every bit of my insurance go where it should go, to my family.
We just buried my Grandfather a few months back, he was 90. The funeral, burial, stone, etc.. cost almost twenty thousand bucks. Then after that you we had to take the bunch of Cafones in our family out to dinner, another $700. No thanks..
The charges were rediculous, many of which you had to go with and had no choice such as a man to open the door for you when you walked in, cost? $400 for some clown. It goes on and on, they really hose you.
I don't want any part of that.

Excellent points, Ant.

Prepaid service is one way I have seen work flawlessly.
A person could take an afternoon off and go visit his/her choice in a mortuary service provider and pre pay the service. Papers go in the safe or to the spouse/siginificant other.

There are guidelines online about how to do this and what to expect.

When that time comes, your family will not have to be stressed over what to do as far as arangements are concerned. It's less costly as well, from my experience.

My wife passed away unexpectedly 12 weeks ago from a cerebral hemorrhage. The funeral cost was just under 20k. (could have easily spent much, much more)
In my case, I will probably be buried next to her. Strangely enough, the cemetery was offering a discount when I was there the other day. Really putting the pressure on!
By the way, she was an organ donor and I can you firsthand it is not necessarily free!!! ( I would have done it regardless as it was her wish)
