Default Sad, car leaving tomorrow...

I really need to say thank you to all of you who have helped me over the past few years. I have learned quite a lot through you good people here on the PY forums. I would not have been lucky to have my combo work as well as it did if it were not for many of you.

My Lemans race car is leaving for it's new home in KY tomorrow AM. The new owners are on the way over now to check it out. I am sad, but have a new project to play with....so I guess I'll live. More questions for you all, and more great advice for certain!

Thanks again, and don't worry....the new car WILL see track time as well!

Darin, where in KY is the car going?

I'm just glad that you're not going anywhere. In fact, you're not allowed to leave, really.

Darin,

Your thread "Quest for the 9's" was great for me as well as others I am sure. You give just as much as you get!

Good luck with the new project.

Darin why do I get the feeling that cruiser Bonnie wagon has a certain Max wedge wagon in its sights. Good Luck. Its hard to part with a car thats been good to you.

Curious too where in KY. Maybe it will still see some Ram racing and show up in my division. Be sure to tell the new owner.

Thanks, I know I will have fun with the new car...but it will be tough to see 'ole black and blue go away.

I met the new owners tonight. Nice people, and very excited about it. They want to paint it like a Judge and race it down there. I think they are from Bardstown, KY. They want to run a 6.50 index deal, and want to copy my combo closely. Wish they had a few thousand extra to buy my top end now!

I know the feeling, Darin...you'll get over it once the new project occupies your mind. I still miss the Discomobile sometimes though (LOL).

Darin, you'll come to love that wagon as much as the Lemans in a short period pf time.

The priceless part will be the look on the Camaro Driver's face when you dust him at the light with it!

Sorry to see it go as well. Great memories and you did an amazing job with it. Enjoy the new ride - I haven't seen it yet - pics anywhere? Sounds like a cool tow vehicle for the dragster if I ever get it done.

Paul

Darin, that had to be tough to see pull away,I know how much work was in her.I enjoyed trying to keep my Firebird as quick as your Lemans, too bad we couldn't line them up at VMP.Keep posting progress on the new project.

I've been entertaining trading my Firebird and/or Lemans for a tube chassis car,not sure I can do it!

Thanks fellas. It was tough to see it pull out today. Got the wagon in the garage today, and yes it fits....not much room to spare though! Mark, you would have smoked me at VMP!

Paul, get that dragster done so I can come out and crew for you....I need a reason to go to the track and help someone! I want to talk with you about some cam choices for the new ride as well.

I feel your pain amigo. I recently had to bid farewell to my 69 goat and watch it loaded onto a huge trailer and depart for the Pacific Northwest. It's been about a month now but I still miss the car. I am psyched about my new project but I really really miss the goat.

I've had mine since high school, 23 years now. I don't know if I could ever get rid of it either.
Good luck with the new project Darin.
