1987 Silverado
Air, tilt, cruise, cd player, autolocking hubs, power windows and door locks all work.
350, Overdrive transmission, fuel injected.
Newer tires
Very straight and rust free body, no rust no accident damage or paint work ever.
Frame is clean, looks like it has never been abused on or off road.
No noises except the normal ones.
Engine pulls very strong and transmission shifts flawlessly.
Very clean interior, no cracks in dash, door panels nice, carpet very nice as well as seats.
All glass is good.
Has a small transmission leak

What do you guys think it is worth? I cannot believe how clean, rustfree and smooth driving it is. I was underneath it for a while and it looks real good underneath, not even surface rust. The only thing that looks bad are the plastic stick on protectors in front of the rear wheel openings. They have cracked and discolored. I may try to remove it some how but I think it protects against rock chips that can lead to rust. Thanks for looking.

Those mid 80s Silverados hold their value very well....Overrated in my opinion but the market does dictate these things...not my opinion..So...
It's hard to tell from the photos if it's a LWB or SWB?
Looks like a long wheel base and they are a little less desirable (but probably better trucks).
4WD adds value and it's a nice looking truck. Hard to find in that condition.
I'd say, the last time I looked...and that's been a while.... a truck like that would probably be in the $8K to $10K range.

that seems to be a very clean and respectable truck. You are correct, those adhesive patches in front of the rear wheels are to prevent rock chips. I suspect you could heat them with a blow dryer and perhaps get them to come off (mine got sanded off in preparation for paint).

I could be wrong, but 8 - 10k seems high to me. As I have thought about putting a price on mine the market for these trucks seems somewhat depressed, just like all other run of the mill vehicles.

I'd go 6 - 8 maybe, but in the end it depends on how badly you want it.

Like I said, been a long time since I looked but they were bringing crazy money back then. That's when I went Dodge and been driving them ever since.
Probably right about the 6 to 8 max considering the depressed market over all.

I was thinking between $4K to $5k. It is not perfect but is not lacking. I walked around it this morning. Zero rust. I'm still shocked. What sold me after seeing the body was the interior and the drive. I guess since it does not have massive tires it rides better. I may sell my Camaro and keep this. I've seen some that were very well used and people wanted more. Most of all the ones i've looked at had molested engine bays, broken interior parts and have been lifed or dogged out. This one looks like it has come out of the garage of your grandfather. Hard to find a tank like this that has been taken care of and is unmolested.

One of my friends has one of those that isn't even close to this condition and some guy offered her $6000. for it. She refused. I agree with Greg, I would say between $6-8000. Like you say hard to find a 4x4 that vintage that hasn't been beat or modified to death.
