1968 GTO -Freshly built 455 (462)
1968 REAL GTO. VIN code "42" -$16,750
I've owned and enjoyed this car for 2 years and am ready to sell. I need the money and space for my 1968 GTO convertible. 3 kids, 3 jobs and too many toys. The car was 100% restored in 2000. I purchased it in 2007. The car is a great driver/cruiser. The paint looks good with the exception of a few chips and blemishes. I would consider the paint to be in good "driver" condition. If you would require the paint "freshened", let me know as I have the resources to do so. The interior is in nice shape. Originally an A/C car. This car is solid! BRAND NEW MOTOR!!! Donnie Miles (who frequents the PY boards) of Team Miles Racing and Miles Automotive is a Pontiac specialist. If you'all know him, then you know his Pontiac credentials. Engine: 455 cleaned, checked,punched out .030 over by R&W Machine in West Chester, PA. It is now a 462 C.I.D. Stock rods and crank with Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons. Spyder Prep Racing Heads (spyderprepracingheads.com) prepped 6X heads, flat milled them .010", took exhaust valve openings from 1.66" to 1.77" and seated 45º Ferrea valves. 2.11 intakes got a 3 angle valve job. The 1.77 exhaust side received a 5 angle valve job. Donnie Miles did all the custom porting, polishing and gasket matching. Comp Cams 9.3" Chromoly Pushrods and C.A.T. Fluid Damper (SFI certified), 1.52:1 PRW Stainless Roller Rockers. Torquer II intake with Holly 750 Double Pump. This motor is NASTY yet still retains a stock appearance. Rims are American Racing Torque Thrusts with BF Goodrich 295/50R16's tires on the rear and 225/50R16's on the front. I can switch them out for a set of original Rally II's with center caps and trim rings and knock a few bucks off the price of the car. The trunk is solid as is the frame. It appears that a new trunk and fenders were installed during the 2000 restoration. Whomever did the work did a great job. I believe that the car is well worth a look if you are interested. Feel free to arrange a time to inspect this vehicle. I drive the car regularly to cruise-ins and for Sunday drives. The car is very dependable and safe. Must have alot of $ in that motor. What is the compression. Is it good on pump gas.

I have too much into the car. I am asking close to my break-even price. As for the compression goes,... with the 6X heads being flat milled .010, I am looking at 9.5 to 1 (estimated). I just started running Sunoco 89 octane in it and it runs great. Not ever a ping. It probably runs better on 93 octane but I don't race, I just cruise. Usually I have my 5 year old with me (he thinks it's his car) so I can't even get on it like I'd like to. We are estimating over 500 H.P. The car runs like a bat out of hell. I've taken this car to cruise events an hour away from me and the car really behaves well in traffic. It doesn't get hot. It won't go over 180 degrees unless it's really hot out and your stuck in traffic then it hits 190. As soon as you start moving, it comes right down. It starts and idles nice enough to be a daily driver.

Nice looking Goat Pete.... looks to be the one I saw at Miles Automotive this past Spring. And yes, Donnie and his dad's credentials are the best as far as I'm concerned.... they know Pontiacs and what they're doing for sure.
