PY Member Prayer request - Karen Keefer
This has been kept quiet until now, as Ken and Karen didn't want people worrying about them, and are private people.
However, now is the time for anyone who can to keep Karen in your thoughts and prayers. Two weeks ago Karen had a stroke, she's getting better now and shouldn't have many issues from it. However, it was caused, in part, by a large tumor on her kidney, that was unknown until the stroke. She went into surgery today to remove her Kidney and tumor, along with her Gall Bladder. There were some complications with her spleen and her gall bladder and she lost a lot of blood. Now for your part, it will take a week for the Pathology report due to the holidays, to determine what the tumor was. We need to pray that it was non cancerous and after healing up she'll go on to live a long and healthy life. She's been in the hospital, in the ICU for two weeks, and is expected to stay another week after the surgery, and she has no insurance... Please keep her, and Ken, in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you! |

Will pray that whatever was in the tumor didn't have time to spread, and she gets her strength back quickly.

Sorry to hear this news; will certainly pray for Karen's recovery and for Ken as well. I am reminded how much we take for granted and how fragile this life is.

Wow. Our thoughts are with Ken and Karen, hoping for a full recovery.
Makes it even worse that they've got to worry about the money, with her insurance situation.

Karen and Ken are great people, if you ever get a chance to personally met them. I pray that Karen will recover completely and we will see her smiling face at Norwalk many more times.

My thoughts are with Karen and Ken too. Has anyone set up a medical fund for them yet. I'm sure Ken wouldn't ask, but I think some support would be appreciated. No insurance can be devastating.
