Thumbs up '65 GTO drag car project..

Hello guys..
I wanted to give you a little update on how this project is coming along. My father have been building this car for a while now and it's getting closer and closer to completion, finally.

Initially he bought a roller car from Texas, nice thin fiberglass body, good brakes and rear-end but it had 2 by 3 mild steel chassis and we decided to take it apart and rebuild the car from a-z. So he ordered a c-m pro mod chassis kit from vprc and we built it on a big jig and I tig welded the kit together for him. The motor is the old Scott Rex's 517 N/A screamer putting out close to 1100hp with few tricks.
It's equipped with a JW glide, good PTC converter, tricked out big 9" rear and a whole bunch of custom parts.

Today we got the body from the painter and we mounted it on the chassis (please ignore the skinny 32-14.5 tires on the back. LOL). It finally felt like it was a car, not just a project laying around the shop...

We're planning on running it this coming racing season, I'll update as time goes on.

That's good for now..
Kris & Rudolf

Damn that's nice.

Must cost a fortune to build something like that up there...

I mean most all that stuff has to be shipped there and all.

WOW!

Congrats,looks fantastic.

Why can't I edit some grammar error in my first post? I'm always working on my English.. LOL
Oh well,
thanks for the compliments, we appreciate them! I'll keep you posted on the progress. I'm about to weld up some sick headers for this car, this thing is going to be so loud..haha
Yeah it's a bitch to live up here if you're a gearhead.. you can roughly multiply the cost by 2 and that was before the inflation and the banking collapse over here, that hit us hard in late 2008. But hey we still race and have a good time. I guess the real money though is in all the work that's behind..

Have no clue Baker, but we'll see... To me it's just so boring to sit in the plane for countless hours and driving a rental car on your never ending roads... and not to mention having to get through all the post 9/11 checks and questions.. makes me wanna puke

But the people and Ponchos at Norwalk makes it all worth it.

Well, I guess when you're accustomed to living on an island, our roads can seem to be "never ending" (LOL). Looking forward to the day I get to see you and your Dad again.

Does anyone know roughly how this engine's going to perform at 50-75 ft above sea level and temp around 55-65°F compared to a track like VMP with temp around 85°F?!?!?!?
