Congrats Tazzz2! Well deserved my friend. I enjoyed holding the flash for Kevin during the photo shoot (lol).

Of course, the only problem with the car is that rear spoiler, but the squirrels are coming to take care of that (lol).

But seriously, very well deserved article on a a great car! Keep close tabs on that ride. Looking forward to updates on the next build.

Your buddy

Bob

Tazz, nice car and something to be real proud of.. press! You and others have reaffirmed my thoughts on making my 72 it's original Springfield Green again, the early Formies look damn good in green. Not much on the GTO 60's dark greens, but the hues for 70-73 Birds were awesome and there was a cool variety year to year.

I have a suggestion and please don't take this as criticism of your wonderous car....

My hood was up on drivers side in back and a month ago I realigned the hood hinge (dropped it lower) and it is perfect now. It looks like yours could do same. If for some reason it is at lowest alignment spot, elongate the hole if needed in hinge (mine didn't need this). Just a tip that would help, again please take this in the spirit intended, it IS a way cool car.

Thanks a lot guys this is really amazing that the thread is still going and so many of you have been so kind with your words...

The car started off as a driver restoration that kind of went retarded (I'm really not a Bird-aholic,,,really I can stay in budget and I can quit any time,,,, Oh and I have some swap land LOL).... You know the minute you start saying well maybe just take this part off and restore it your done LOL

Bird72 you're absolutely right, that rear corner was a real nightmare on this particular build,,, we literally broke a "Ring Brothers" hinge pissing around with all the adjustments and literally ran out of time prior to heading off to the Nat's where the photo shoot was done of the car HPP..... BTW gang I can't say enough about the gang over at Ring Brothers,,,,, they were 100% helpful and are "super" group of people to deal with (not to mention they make a hell of nice product too)....

If you don't mind sharing the info, who made the honeycombs? That's exactly the way Year One should have done them! I would like to have a set made of either brushed or painted aluminum in 15x8. 16x8 if I can find the right tires. No worries; I would not want a carbon copy of your one-off wheels. That's like copying someone's tattoo. I want them to look more like the originals in size and finish but weigh much less like yours.

A 70 Formula with honeycombs and a spoiler. The best of both worlds!
