convertible questions
I have my top frame apart for restoration. Is it best to re-assemble it prior to installation in the car, or should I put it together piece in the car?
Top header vinyl for a white top and parchment interior - white or black? Sunvisors - same question, white or black?

I left mine in the car. Too chicken to take it apart. lol
64catdroptop would know but he is in Korea at the moment. Anyone else have any experiance? Header I think should be black sunvisors should be color of the seats (i think) imho patrick

Jeremy, I just did a total over haul to mine. Did this all with it in the car. I had the top pealed back to the rear bow, and only pieces of frame left in car was the rear bow and the rear trim stick. Was able to put in almost virgin folding arms, better middle and front bows, fix my header, and re-used my top. All works like silk now.
Realistically you can do this either way since its already apart. You can piece it back together in the car or put it together out of car ( I think will be harder) and have someone help you put it in the car. If you took good pic of how it goes together it is not hard put it back together in the car. Most important thing seem to me was the right hardware, Mine was all Jerry-rigged before, I had another bent frame to work with that had all its original hardware. Thanks to a fellow member.

From what I've seen w/parchment in 68 is carpet,kick panels,dash,console,seat belts black.A pillar trim and north white. Like Dominick said on frame,either way. Get it all adjusted before material goes on.

mines a 68 Parchment with black header and black sunvisors
i had my top apart outside the car and never thought about pulling it down inside the car. .It could be better . Off the car was painful but i had a bent arm |

The reason I like in the car to assemble it is, Once you get to the point of installing the folding arms, on the ground there isn't much to help keep every thing stable and in its place and thats how things get bent.
When I was ready for the folding arms I placed the header bow on the windshield header and used some duct tape from windshield to header to make sure it didn't fall. Then mount the rear of the arm to the main bracket (cylinder area) and the only tough part is the front of arm and latch and header bow all mount together. Slide latch into bow and fit arm in and use the latch nut to hold it. Do other side and place first and second bows in place. Adjust to bow to header and the fun begins with windows. Just my .02
