Even though it's not a Pontiac, I have an 89 Mustang that I'm trying to fix up for my niece. The 5.0 block is cracked so I'm doing a whole new engine, but going to use the cam that I pulled out of the old one. It's a hydraulic roller and is in good shape. The main problem is I can't make out the grind number as it was done with an engraving tool, and the main part of the number was engraved over the the stampings and after two e-mails to Comp in the past five days they have not responded. If this is the way Comp marks their girnds (this is my first experience with their cams) then I'm thinking of selling it (may have to give it away since I can't get any specs on it) then maybe I should be glad that other companies like Lunati, Ultradyne, Crane (when they were in business) and a couple of others I have fooled with in the past stamps all the numbers on their cams. The only way I know it is a Comp girnd as it has a CC engraved in it along with an XE. This is the poorest example of quality work I have ever seen out of such a supposed top manufacturer. Also this is the poorest customer service I have ever seen and as I said this will be the last time I will ever use any of their products, if I even use it now. Sorry such a long rant but if this is the best they can do then I hope they go broke, as they never get any business from me.
