I would like to know if my engine has all matching numbers and just a few after market parts, such as new carpet, headliner and trim rings. Plus new factory color paint in 2003.
is this consider Stock or Restored? All sheet metal is original. |

Stock = as delivered from the factory (paint, equipment)
Modified = Changes from stock Restored = work done to return car to factory stock condition Paint job = replace paint If car is mostly original, but not 100 % factory equipment, then is it not stock. People pay money to own a car. That person is entitled to do with the car what they wish.

I would say stock appearing. 90% of all show cars are stock appearing, and are shown in stock classes. That is how we class them at PIPF “Pontiacs In Pigeon Forge”

Sure are alot of different answers here! I'm going to an all Pontiac car show Sunday. I'll have to try to find a judge and ask the question. Hey, maybe I'll win one of those $2.00 Trophies! Only invested over 20K! What the hell, it's only money. And I'm keeping this American car alive!!!

It looks good, and that is what counts in the end. My 2 pennies.

The way I read your original post is that the car is #'s matching, original sheet metal and that the aftermarket parts are the paint, trim rings, headliner, and carpet I'd call that restored for sure, not restified, if the parts are the closest to original thats available. Car is awesome and you need to post more pics !! Good luck w/the show.

Thanks, I had one when I was a 17 yr old kid. I had to sell it to buy my girl a wedding ring. Sold it for $600.00. I missed it for 35 years. I found this one on ebay last year. Same everthing as my first GTO. By the way, the wife is still here. but the diamond ring is in a draw somewhere. She needed a much bigger diamond.
Let this be a lesson! Didn't mean to get off the subject. |
