Default 1969 firebird dash trim above ash tray

It looks like my 69 has a part missing right above the ash tray in ny instument pannel.
There are two holes right above the ash tray that look like something should cover up.
My dash is a repo any ideas?

This shows the holes above the ash tray. Its not my dash but mine has the same holes.

Here is a picture of one with no hole looks like a trim piece is in place.

Curious how you like the repro dash and where you got it......was planning on buying a repro also as my original has some extra holes on the bottom...see them on ebay for around 395.00 is that what you paid also?

I got mine from classic with a big order so I got a discount. I will have to look at the invoice. It seems to be a good piece.

It's a metal trim piece that you are missing. Sometimes they come up on ebay or you can just post an ad in the classified section.

Here is the part on ePay, but I wouldn't pay that much for it. Seller also has trouble spelling Pontiac.

The 2 holes in the tabs (facing forward) are for rubber bumpers to keep the ash tray from rattling. The metal insert referenced above the ashtray is screwed in with the ashtray asssembly (screws are vertical).
