Default block vin location

Has anyone else seen the vin location in the same place as this one? Sorry for the poor quality of the picture but you can see where it is I hope.

I've always seen them more vertical.

I have never seen them there before, must have been a Friday afternoon right after a liquid lunch.

It's usually pretty much in that location, your's is just at an angle. I thought the same as "ITSBACK"....Holiday hangover...

Besides, I'd think if someone was going to fake it, they'd try to make it look like all the rest...vertical.

The stamp looks real, just in a weird place.

If the casting dates are in the ballpark, I wouldn't worry too much. My grandmother was from the detroit area and all her family worked in the assembly plants. Her family had a saying " don't buy a car made on monday or friday" I asked her what this meant. She said that it wasn't uncommon for some of the guys on the assembly line to start drinking at lunchtime on friday. Sometimes to help from the hangover from the night before. And when they came in on monday they would still be hurting from the weekend. Granted not everyone did this, but she said it wan't uncommon for some of the workers to do this. And yes, some of her family and friends were guilty as well. Just a little tidbit I thought I would contribute to the collective.
