Default update on the update of 65WJ

Just met with doc, all went well, he is back in his room and resting comfortably. Time will tell how well everything went but prognosis is very good. He should be home early this evening.

REALLY glad you're on the mend, Patrick.

Drink plenty of water and flirt with the nurses.

sleeping is very hard to get. Its amazing how much you use your neck muscles to lie down. So I propped myself in the corner of my couch.
I talked with my nurse this am. My throat is sore because of the tube that was in there. She mentioned the real pain will start tomorrow in my shoulder blades, back of my neck area. So it is most important to take the pain med every 4 hours.
When she first started with Dr. Steiman 19 years ago they would keep patients for 10 days. That got my attention.
Mostly soft foods, Ice cream apple sauce stuff that slides down easy.
Ocean spray cran-apple is very tasty and keeps the kidneys clean.
I have to take short walks a couple times a day to prevent blood clots.
when they handed me a cd and said these were my films I thought they were of the surgery, sorry just the mri scans. I could post a picture of my scar. It is a real beauty. I will not need a costume for holloween. lol

Again thank you all for your kindness, thoughts and prayers.

patrick

Hold out for a sponge bath, make sure it's the good looking nurse, not the fullback on the night shift...

Take care of yourself, the projects will all be here when you get back!

I found after my low back surgery walking as much as I could helped. Didn't seem so in the short run (20' would wipe me out) but it keeps scar tissue from forming.

Oh and DEMEROL ask for it by name
