Hello fellas, just wanted to check for words of wisdom with regards to removing the gas tank on my 67 Tempest? Never have removed one before. There is still roughly 3 gallons of gas in the tank. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Floor jack and a piece of 2X12 or plywood.

Be sure to jack the rear end up. The straps have to be out of the way for the tank to drop forward and down. Unhook the rubber lines, sending unit wire and ground wire. Don't forget the vent line on the filler tube.
The tank may wobble when you let the jack down.

Take it easy cause that 3 gallons could still end up all over the floor..... get it ALL out if you can. 3 gallons is 15 lbs of extra weight to manhandle around in a tight space. Make sure you plug the lines at the front of the tank, plug the vent, and have the gas cap on tight. And get two guys to help you get it out from under the car.
You probably know this already, so it's only a reminder. I've found reminders do help.

Also, wear eye protection if you're gravelbacking it, and if you want to pull the sending unit, use a BRASS punch on the retaining ring to unscrew it.

Siphon out all you can first. Do 67's have the vent tube. I thought they switched to vented gas cap in 67.
Look for a build sheet. Some plant workers put them above the tank.

Thanks fellas. gas tank came out without incident. While I was down there I removed the rear bumper as well. Next step is to lift the body off. Thanks again for all the replies.
